New Beginnings

This morning I was interviewed by a graduating photo student from the Academy of Art in SF. It made me remember how exciting and scary it was to start this photography career. The funny thing is, from her perspective, I'm totally doing it. From where I stand I'm like... "I am?" The process always continues, the task list always lengthens and the big picture always shifts shape. Here's to staying grounded and shooting the moon.

Whoa, what kind of lens were you using there? Looks like you were doing a quick fly-by.

This was shot with a 600mm lens which is so big, it's like luggage. It makes the massive DSLR body look like a trinket popped on the end. I shot this while photographing for the Tribune Tower in Oakland. It was before sunrise on a clear night in March at Lake Merritt, Oakland, CA.
