New Beginnings
This morning I was interviewed by a graduating photo student from the Academy of Art in SF. It made me remember how exciting and scary it was to start this photography career. The funny thing is, from her perspective, I'm totally doing it. From where I stand I'm like... "I am?" The process always continues, the task list always lengthens and the big picture always shifts shape. Here's to staying grounded and shooting the moon.

Fits and Starts
So it's T-minus-10-days before a month-long trip to the Middle East and I clearly don't have enough to do, so I decide to pick up a new task called blogging. The goal: to share my stories & photos regularly, in little bite-size chunks, instead of hoarding them as I tend to do otherwise. On your mark...get set...
Why is it that professional photographers have the hardest time getting fun photos off to friends, while the least creatively inclined have photos emailed to their crew before the party's over?
Production Notes:
I just finished working as a PA on a print shoot for Eileen Fisher. The weather was amazing, the crew was terrific and I loved watching the husband/wife photo team, Gentl and Hyers, work together. They shoot simultaneously, sometimes piled up like puppies, and it's the coolest thing to see.
Earlier in March, I produced a Humira shoot for Erik Almas. The days were really long -- he likes to be camera ready before the sun rises and we wrapped after the sun set each day. ...but it's a good tired. California really is the most amazing place to shoot.
In February I worked on a production for Adidas, shot by Gus Powell. Each day was a new location in the Bay Area and we managed to get some pretty perfect weather everyday except the last one. Without any possibilities to postpone the last day, we had to tough i out and get the job done. It was a really long, cold, wet, difficult day but the crew was fun and we laughed through it all, regardless. The shots Gus created in that thick fog were really beautiful.
OK, time for me to get back to the fascinating world of Quickbooks. life as a business owner is so glamorous.

Recent Shoots:
I had a shoot at the Gloria Ferrer champagne caves yesterday that went pretty well. It lasted several hours longer than expected because of the interview, but everyone seemed to be pretty mellow about it. Whatever -- more for me to look at -- I just kept shooting. Good times.Production Notes:
